So the job I'm about to leave in a couple of week is just now picking up speed. In the past several weeks, I cataloged about 80 books and completely rewrote the cataloging manual. I'm currently in the process of writing the barcoding manual. And I still have 100 books to catalog in order to reach my goal of making a dent in the barcoding project before I go!
I'm actually really enjoying the job right now and wish I had more time to get all this stuff done! It's probably a mix of all the hustle and bustle (internal at least - still no more than 1 patron an hour needing anything) and the ego boost I get almost daily from my boss. About that ego boost - let me gloat and repeat some of the things she has said to me lately.
"When you are the manager of a library someday..."
"Have you worked in a publishing house before? You have such a keen sense of design."
"You said in your interview that you had an attention to detail, but it's more than just that..." (I wish I could remember the rest of this one. It was goooooood.)
