Alright, already

So after eating half of my French beef wrap that I bought for lunch, I'm feeling a bit better. If anyone, like me, is wondering what "French beef" could be when the sandwich doesn't come with a cup of au jus, the sticker on my plastic sandwich container says "roast beef, feta cheese, red onion, lettuce, white french sauce, pita." So that settles that.

I have several things that are severely bothering me today. One of them is my head. The rest are probably contributing to that problem.

1) While watching The Birdcage (which Matt so kindly DVRed for me) last night, I was fast forwarding through this commercial and then decided that it was probably something I just had to see. I am so glad I rewound. I mean, WTF - how could my life be complete without watching that?

There are so many things WRONG with that commerical that I just can't get over it. And since I'm not feeling so great, I don't feel like getting into it. But please, for my sake, please read this person's blog post about it. It says all the things that I wish I could say about it so well that I don't feel like writing my own version.

Oh, and you don't have to buy it through the infomercial. They even have a website (probably the kind that steals your credit card number. Their "100% Secure Site" button opens a blank page!).

2) Matt gave me these really beautiful Venetian glass necklaces from Rhode Island last summer. I've worn them a lot, even since we've moved. But it's been a couple of months since I've seen them and I'm growing increasingly concerned. I don't take jewelry off in weird places (except for earrings) and leave it laying around, so I just don't see how these 2 necklaces wouldn't be in my apartment somewhere. I've looked in all the typical places and then some (window sills, jewelry boxes, on my desk, IN my desk, my closet, my dresser drawers, both bathrooms, my luggage, Matt's luggage, under the bed) and I still can't find them. It's quite pissing me off. I also can't find the pretty little shell necklace he gave me that he made in Japan 2 summers ago. But I haven't looked quite as hard for it either. It may be at the bottom of my box of various necklaces.

3) As I was climbing the flights of stairs to class this morning, feeling increasingly light-headed and woozy, the thought came to me, "Who invented stairs anyway?" At the time, I thought this was pretty profound and meant to Twit it. I guess I forgot by the time I got my laptop out. But now that I'm sitting at the reference desk, I figured I should do the librarian thing and try to find the answer. Not so difficult. I just Googled " who invented stairs" and voila. I guess it wasn't so profound a question, after all. I'm too lazy right now to decide if this is even a reliable source. But it quenched my curiosity for now.

If only my brain would stop worrying over that crazy 9-11 bill and my necklaces, maybe my head would stop hurting just for a little while.

I saw the commercial for that "currency" a couple of weeks ago and couldn't help but think how incredibly tacky it is.

Did you check your car for the necklaces? Maybe the random people who came in your apartment in the middle of the night took them? I hope you feel better tomorrow.
