Thanks to Katie, I've got this Chocolate Rain song stuck in my head. I don't want to link to it on here because I then I may be responsible for infecting others' heads with this weird song! If you must hear it, search YouTube. You'll find it.
Thanks to everyone who was concerned about Azurel! She is much better now. Several days ago, Matt came home from work to find a poop necklace in the litter box. She is still very interested in string-like things though and loves stealing my necklaces from wherever I leave them laying around. I just hope not to find a REAL necklace covered in poop some day.
The afghan I'm knitting is coming along very nicely! I've just finished the second ball and will be taking pictures for flickr sometime today. I'll post one here when I get a good one. Unfortunately, I did not buy all the yarn I needed. Well, it wasn't too unfortunate because I didn't have a coupon at the time, so I paid full price for 4 balls of yarn. Now, I need more but I won't be able to get the same dye-lot. I hope that isn't obvious with the finished product! My plan now, is to buy 1 ball at a time with my 40% off coupon for A.C. Moore. Unfortunately, the store is in Durham, so I'll have to drive over there multiple times and I still don't know how many more balls I need. I wish I used that coupon in the first place. This is going to be an expensive afghan!
Speaking of knitting, my new job at Yarns Etc is going great! My first day was this past Saturday and my next is this Saturday. It felt nice to be acknowledged as more knowledgeable about something than other people. I actually had people asking me advice about their projects, like what to use certain yarn for, what yarn would be best for a certain project, what colors I thought would be best together... Yeah, fun stuff. I worked the last 2 hours alone and did fine! I keep forgetting to ask for people's frequent buyer cards and I forgot to sign out when I left, but I'll remember next time! It was amazing how fast 7 hours flew by. And I got a lot of knitting done. I think I'd like to learn how to crochet at some point, now that I'm working there. I'd have help when I needed it (for free), and apparently it's faster once you know what you're doing.
Today, I'm off to the grocery store, then I need to clean the kitchen. This whole staying at home this is a full-time maid's job! Maybe once I'm done with that, I'll either go work out or start cutting out pieces for the quilt. I need to get going on that. But it's not even fall yet, so I have time right? Anyway, tomorrow I'm going to the ZOO!!!!!!!!!!! With Melanie and her kids. Somewhere, I have a picture of me and Melanie (and Megan and Amber) at the zoo from middle school. If I remember correctly, the picture is on a bench over by the elephants. How cheesy would it be for us to get a picture taken in the same place, over 10 years later?
